Get Involved

There are many ways in which you can get involved in your local community.

Tenant and Resident Associations (TRAs)

The Borough already has a significant number of Tenants and Residents associations, which allow people who live in those areas to directly affect and become involved in how their homes are managed by the Council.

Click here for a list of the Local Tenant and Residents Associations here.

Community Based Groups
Apart from these groups the borough also encourages and supports a number of different Community based groups. These groups have a number of different functions covering various aspects of different community needs within the area that they cover.

There are groups that have been started to help and assist some of the minority ethnic groups within the borough and the Council often provides help and assistance in getting many of the existing groups started. There are dedicated Neighbourhood Community Development Officers who provides support to these groups.

There is a list of Community Based Groups here.

Community Housing Partnership (CHP) Meetings
CHP meetings are held monthly. The main focus of CHP meetings is to gather together key council staff, ward Members, and residents in that CHP to discuss current issues regarding that specific area. They are open to everyone who lives in the area to attend, and at the end of the meeting there is an open forum for residents to air any concerns they currently have.

Click here to find out where and when your CHP.
